INTRODUCTION
UI proposes the establishment of UI Institute for Net Zero Initiative (UI NZI) to support the achievement of the net zero emissions target of Paris Agreement and fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and accelerate the green economy development in Indonesia. UI NZI will become a hub of two Centers, Center for Excellence (CfE) in Energy Transition and Center for Excellence (CfE) in Conservation and Green Economy and brings together UI’s experts in energy and climate across three faculties and amplifies existing relevant research centers to conduct interdisciplinary research to deliver vital technological advances, innovations, and policy recommendations.
Two priority sectors of Energy Availability and Conservation are chosen based on global climate priority action, Ul academic strength and development focus. UI NZI offers an inter- universities collaboration framework providing access for other national universities and international universities through development programs consisting of research activities, facilities procurement, workshop, and seminars.
Purpose
The seminar on Net Zero Initiative is a place for all the stakeholders related to energy to gather and share inputs so the initiative becomes one movement towards a better future Experts from top Universities in the world will be invited to give insights on the way toward the real net zero initiative so the target can be achieved.
As the starting point of the journey of UI NZI to achieve its target, the seminar/workshop for the establishment of CfE Transition Energy, Conservation and Green Economy will be held. This workshop means to take input from stakeholders in industries and governments so that the CfE will be a hub of the research, academic, and industrial sectors.
